Wall Removals

Looking to re-vamp your home? Sick of those dull walls? Removing wall adds value to any home!

Open space adds that wow factor to your home and it is no surprise newer homes, do not contain many walls.

If you’re looking to remove walls, it is required that a Structural Engineer assess the structural effects of the proposed wall removal and determine whether the wall is load-bearing or non-load bearing.

Load bearing walls are part of the structure and removing these will require modification to the structure which typically involve installing a structural beam and new bracing.

Non-load bearing walls are not part of the structure and can be removed without any structural modification.

Excelo Consulting Engineers are qualified NER Structural Engineers and are able to to assist you with your wall removal project!

The wall removal process typically involves:

  • Site inspection of the structure to assess the structural effects of removing the proposed wall
  • Determining if the wall is a load- bearing or non-load bearing wall.
  • If it is load-bearing wall, Excelo Consulting Engineers can provide you with the engineering details of the steel beam.
  • If the wall is a non-load bearing wall, Excelo Consulting Engineers can provide you with the structural certificate to confirm this.
